To apply for admission, students will need to:
- Fill out the application form
- Send a $25 application fee (payable to Dordt College)
- Send in transcript
Types of Admission
Students may be admitted under one of the following categories:
REGULAR ADMISSION is granted to all candidates who have met all the admissions criteria. Additional requirements include the following:
- A reference form/recommendation by principal or supervisor.
- GRE or MAT test scores.
- A minimum of one year of successful teaching experience.
CONDITIONAL ADMISSION may be granted to applicants who do not currently meet all of the criteria for regular admission.
Conditional status will be reviewed upon successful completion of nine semester hours of graduate credit at Dordt College. The graduate course work grade point average must be at least 3.0 and other regular admission requirements must be met before conditional admission status can be changed to regular admission status.
SPECIAL ADMISSION may be granted to those who do not plan to become candidates for the Master of Education program but wish to participate in one or more graduate courses. Please contact the Graduate Education Office for further details.
After admission is completed, registrations are accepted.

Transfer of Credit
Students are permitted to transfer a total of nine semester hours of graduate work with a minimum of a B grade. All nine semester hours may come from any participating ARCU* institution, while a maximum of six semester hours may come from non-ARCU colleges, permitting an additional three hours to come from an ARCU institution. For example, if a student enters the program with six semester hours in graduate education from a state university, an additional three hours may be taken through one of Calvin College's online courses.
The following colleges are ARCU institutions: Calvin College, Covenant College, Dordt College, Geneva College, Institute for Christian Studies, Redeemer University College, the King's University College, and Trinity Christian College.

Note: Courses taken more than 10 years ago will not be considered for transfer credit.
