Zimmerman Picks Dordt College

December 20, 2012

(Thursday, December 20; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Cody Zimmerman, a senior at Waupun High School (Wisconsin), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender basketball program.

Zimmerman, a 6-5, 205 pound forward, averaged 14.9 points per game last season with seven rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.  Zimmerman scored 11.2 points per game as a sophomore and had seven rebounds per game.  He is currently averaging 10.2 points per game with eight rebounds per game and was a first-team all-conference pick in 2012.

“We are very excited to add to our list of committed players for next year,” says Dordt College coach Ross Douma.  “Cody is a very tough and physical player who will adjust to the college game quickly.  He comes from a very successful high school program and that will serve him well as he transitions to college.  Cody is a high character young man who is a very nice addition to our program.”

Cody is the son of Dean and Karla Zimmerman from Fox Lake, Wisconsin.  He plans to study agriculture and engineering at Dordt College.
