Dordt Women No. 8 In Polling

(Wednesday, October 2; Sioux Center, Iowa)  The Dordt College Defender women’s cross country team is ranked no. 8 in the most recent NAIA Coaches’ Poll released on Wednesday, October 2.

The Defenders fell one spot in the weekly polling after finishing 11th out of 33 teams at the Roy Griak Invite in St. Paul, Minnesota.  The Defenders were the second highest finishing NAIA team as Olivet Nazarene (Illinois) finished 8th at the talent laden event.  Dordt totaled 495 points in the poll conducted by 23 coaches across the country.  Olivet Nazarene moved from 8th to 6th with their performance.

Dordt will be off this weekend before competing in the Pre-Nationals Meet hosted at Lawrence, Kansas on October 12 at the same course the NAIA National Championship Meet will be run.  Doane is the only other GPAC team in the poll and holds no. 18 in the ranking.
