Dordt Men's Cross Country In Top-25

October 2, 2013

(Wednesday, October 2; Sioux Center, Iowa)  After not receiving votes in the NAIA Men’s Cross Country Coaches’ Poll for the last two voting periods, the Dordt College Defenders emerged at no. 25 in the poll released Wednesday, October 2.

The Defenders finished 20th at the Roy Griak Invite on Saturday, September 28 in St. Paul, Minnesota.  The Defenders totaled 127 points in the voting done weekly by 23 coaches.  The Defenders finished the Roy Griak race in front of perennial Midwest powers Black Hills State and Dickinson State.  Also getting the voter’s attention was a finish in front of Indiana Wesleyan.  Dickinson State was no. 16 in last week’s poll and Indiana Wesleyan was the top vote getter last week in the “others receiving votes” category.

Dordt’s next action will be Saturday, October 12 when they compete in the Pre-Nationals Meet hosted at Lawrence, Kansas on the same course where the NAIA National Meet will be run in November.  Dordt is one of three GPAC teams in the top 25 with Concordia no. 10 and Morningside no. 16.
