Hoekstra Commits To Dordt Football

(Thursday, January 9; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Arie Hoekstra, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender football program.

Hoekstra, a quarterback and defensive back for the Knights, was limited to five games played this season due to injury.  He passed for 571 yards with eight touchdowns in those five games and ran for a touchdown.  He had 991 career passing yards with 13 touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns.  Hoekstra was named Academic All-District in 2013.

Arie is the son of Erik and Barb Hoekstra of Sioux Center, Iowa.  He plans to studying Engineering at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).

U.S. News & World Report,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
