Moyers Added To Dordt Football Recruits

(Tuesday, May 6; Sioux Center, Iowa) Archie Moyers II, a senior at Sterling High School (Texas), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender football and track programs.

Moyers was a three-time letter winnner in football and threw for over 2,000 yards with 19 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns.  He was Sterling’s team captain in 2013 and was the offensive mvp.  Moyers was named a Baytown Sun Top-25 Athlete and claimed Athlete of the Week honors as well.  A career highlight included passing for three touchdowns in the final two minutes of a win over Sterling’s district rival.  Moyers is listed 6-1, 185 pounds.

Archie is the son of Archie and Tammy Moyers of Bayton, Texas.  He plans to study engineering at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).

U.S. News & World Report,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
