Visser Claims All-GPAC Honors
May 15, 2014
(Wednesday, May 14; Sioux Center, Iowa) Dordt College’s Renae Visser (Junior; Sunnyside, Washington) has earned women’s golf all-conference honors from the Great Plains Athletic Conference for the recently completed 2013-14 season.
Visser finished eighth in the four GPAC Qualifiers with a score of 341. She averaged an 85.8 score over 13 rounds of competition this season and finished in the top-10 in seven out of eight competitions this season.
“Renae is a pleasure to have on the team. She loves the game of golf and is always striving for improvement. Renae is just starting to realize her physical ability and talent and is learning to mentally trust those assets. She has improved immensely since beginning her career and hopefully her senior year allows her to touch on the potential she possesses,” said Dordt College women’s golf coach Matt Nice.
Visser also earned the honor in 2011-12 when she finished 11th in the GPAC field. In the four-year history of the Dordt women’s golf program Visser is the lone all-conference recipient.
The top-10 finishers in the GPAC competitions are automatically accorded all-conference honors and coaches vote to add four more members to the all-GPAC teams.
