Dordt Adds Okoronkwo

(Tuesday, June 3; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Emeka Okoronkwo, a student at Cloud County Community College (Kansas), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender basketball program.

Okoronkwo, a Topeka West High School (Kansas) graduate, averaged 5.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game for Cloud County last season.  As a high school senior he averaged 14 points and five rebounds per game and earned third-team all-state honors.  He will have two years of eligibility remaining and is 6-2, 210 pounds.

Emeka is the son of Emeka Okoronkwo Sr. and Fidelia Okoronkwo.  He plans to study theatre arts at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). 

U.S. News & World Report,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
