Academic Enrichment Center Director

Dordt College is seeking an individual to serve as the Academic Enrichment Center Director. This individual will be responsible for leading the work of the Academic Enrichment Center which is designed to enable students to reach their full potential as learners. This position offers flexible hours ranging from 75% to full-time, depending on the individual.

Responsibilities include assessing, advising, and evaluating students who are provisionally admitted or on academic probation; selecting, training, and supervising peer tutors; planning and conducting a series of study skills seminars; and serving as the liaison between the center, faculty, and other offices on campus. In addition, this individual will research and provide resource materials for Center staff and tutors, serve on various committees, and administer Online Reading Assessment and Math Proficiency tests.

A Bachelor of Arts degree and 3-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training is required. A Master of Arts degree and experience in a related field is preferred. Candidates should have strong research, leadership, and coordination skills along with verbal and written communication skills including the ability to speak to groups of people. Knowledge of developmental reading programs and familiarity with the College Reading and Learning Association and its tutor certification program along with best practices in supplemental instruction and peer tutoring is desired.

Assistant Football Coach (Defensive Coordinator)

Dordt College is seeking an individual to serve as the Assistant Football Coach (Defensive Coordinator). This individual will be expected to assist the head coach and coordinate the defensive efforts of the team and serve as an instructor in the HHP department.

Responsibilities include overall administration and organization of the defense, scripting and preparing defensive practice, leading and mentoring defensive assistants and recruiting student athletes. In addition this individual will teach classes in the HHP department, assist with team travel, budget, and player development and provide oversight for equipment and film personnel.

A Bachelor of Arts degree and 1-3 years of related experience is required. A Masterís degree is preferred (or evidence of being able to complete a Masterís degree in the next 12 months). A strong ability to recruit and lead student athletes is required as well as expertise in developing and coaching on the defensive side of the ball. Successful coaching experience at the high school or college level, knowledge of NAIA regulations and guidelines, and teaching experience at the high school or college level is required.

Custodian - Part Time

Dordt College has a part-time opening for a Custodian. This job would be for 20-25 hours per week during the school year (August 1-May 15) with minimal summer hours. Ideal hours would be mornings with a flexible start time (ex: 5 a.m. Ė 9 a.m. or 6 a.m. - 10 a.m.). Some weekend hours may also be required when there are campus events to prep or clean up after.

Responsibilities of this position include maintaining and cleaning campus facilities. Duties include general maintenance and housekeeping, managing student workers to assist with daily tasks and set up needs, and arranging support equipment and seating for special events.

Qualifications include a basic knowledge of housekeeping and maintenance equipment, physical skills necessary for carrying supplies and moving equipment (up to 50 pounds), planning and scheduling skills, and verbal communication and leadership skills needed for overseeing student workers. The individual in this position must be self-motivated and have the ability to work without direct supervision.

Financial Aid Assistant

Dordt College is seeking a professional, self-starter to serve as a Financial Aid Assistant. This individual would assist with a variety of tasks such as coordinating student loans, student work programs, and scholarship applications. In addition, the individual in this position will provide clerical support for the Financial Aid office and serve as the main receptionist for the office. This position offers flexible hours ranging from 75% to full-time, depending on the individual.

An Associateís degree and 2-4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Candidates should have strong math and accounting skills, along with verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills including word processing, the ability to use spreadsheets, and familiarity with e-mail and database records is required. Coordination and administrative skills are also required.

Dordt College is currently seeking an individual to work as a Graduate Assistant coach in the track and field program. The position is a 2 year commitment with annual review. Jumping/Hurdle/Pole Vault Coach
Seeking an individual with jumping (long and triple)/hurdle/pole vault experience and a passion and willingness to learn technical aspects of these field events.

Duties include being responsible for the development of a training program and technical instruction for 15-20 college athletes. Hours are approximately 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday from January 15 through May 1, with some Saturday meets included. Off-season coaching may also be available.

A bachelorís degree in Education and admission into Dordtís Master of Education program is required. Past experience coaching and/or participating in jumps/hurdles/pole vault is desired.

KDCR Station Manager & Audio Operations Leader

Dordt College is seeking an individual to lead the successful 24/7/365 operation of the college media station which currently includes audio broadcasting, with both terrestrial and web-enabled signals under the KDCR Radio banner. This highly motivated individual will be expected to provide leadership for media operations on campus, including strategic planning, content oversight, operational leadership, financial performance, and educational partnerships to support the mission of the college.

A Bachelorís degree in Broadcast Communications with a minimum of 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills as well as leadership skills for training and supervising student employees. Fundraising experience with complimentary public relations skills are desired.
