Hannah Clark

Making the Most of Every Opportunity

Ohio native Hannah Clark discovered Dordt College while doing an Internet search one day. She was thrilled to find the only accredited Christian college with an agricultural missions program. Because of her passion for agricultural missions, Dordt was the perfect fit for Hannah. As a Dordt College agriculture major, Hannah is committed to the Ag Club, working to promote agriculture both around campus and in the community. This past spring break she led a PLIA service mission team to Mendenhall, Mississippi. Her team painted buildings, repaired tractors, and built a chicken coop.

Hannah knows God brought her here for a reason: "Dordt has helped me fulfill my calling by opening up lots of doors to learn and experience agriculture off campus." One of those experiences was a trip with Agriculture Professor Dr. Ronald Vos to Zambia, Africa. Hannah and several other Dordt agriculture students worked alongside students at Northrise, a new Christian university there, to learn more about sustainable agriculture.

Dordt’s sense of community is one reason Hannah has kept coming back every year. During the week, she regularly attends the all-campus worship services: Sunday night GIFT, Thursday night Praise and Worship, and Wednesday morning chapel. "My favorite part is when all is silent except for the voices of students praising God and connecting with Him," said Hannah.

Because she grew up in a public school, coming to a Christian college has been a challenging switch for Hannah but it has taught her to lean on God in all areas of her life. "I have opportunities here I never had , and Dordt allows me to apply a Christian perspective to everything, not just agriculture."
