Dordt Men's Basketball No. 4 In Post-Season Poll

(Wednesday, March 20; Sioux Center, Iowa)  The Dordt College Defender men’s basketball team held the no. 4 ranking in the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Post-Season Poll released late Wednesday, March 20, by the NAIA national office.

The Defenders completed the season with a 28-7 record and a berth in the national tournament quarterfinals where they were eliminated by eventual national champion Cardinal Stritch in double overtime.

Dordt had won nine games in a row before the quarterfinal game and claimed Dordt’s first post-season GPAC tournament championship in men’s basketball.  The Defenders started the season no. 3 in the national poll and was no. 5 in the NAIA 2011-12 post-season poll.

Dordt College is coached by Ross Douma and advanced to the 2012 and 2013 NAIA Division II National Tournament.
