Dordt College seeks mentors for Host-A-Player program

July 30, 2014

For the second year, the Dordt College football program is holding Host-A-Player, a program benefitting football players from out of state by partnering them with local host families.

The program aims to build relationships between players and the community and help athletes adjust to a new environment and connect to a local church.

Those interested in being host families will be invited to an event on August 16, where they will be introduced to the athletes (families may host between one and three students). After the event, families and student-athletes will connect regularly by having Sunday dinner together, attending games or practices, and more.

Host families will be given free game passes and an invite to the Defenders end-of-season dinner.

Anyone interested in learning about this opportunity should contact Coach Youngblood at or 712-449-5442.
