Chad Hanson was hired as Dordt College volleyball coach in December, 2010, and has a career 16-17 record at Dordt.
He coached for three seasons at the University of Georgia where he served as an assistant coach in 2008 and 2009 and the majority of the 2010 season. Hanson was named the interim head coach of the program in early November and guided the Bulldogs to a 4-3 record in the final weeks of the season. Georgia was 49-45 during Hanson's three seasons in Athens, Georgia.
Prior to his time at Georgia, Hanson served in a similar role at the University of Iowa. Hanson has coached AAU teams and his collegiate coaching stops also include volunteer time at the University of Idaho and Washington State University where he worked extensively with scout teams. From 2001 to 2003 Hanson was the head coach at Colton High School (Washington).
Hanson played collegiately for two seasons at the University of California-Irvine before finishing his career at Washington State with the club team where his team finished as the Bronze Medalists at the NIRSA National Division I Championships.
Hanson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Washington State University in 2000 and he became a Certified Athletic Trainer in 2001.
Chad and his wife Karla have two daughters, Piper and Ava.
