Art show helps kick off Pop Culture Conference at Dordt College

The Dordt College Department of Art and Design is pleased to present “Icthus, an art exhibition.” This show, curated by Dordt Assistant Professor of Art Matt Drissell, coincides with The Christian Evasion of Popular Culture Conference hosted by Dordt College from November 1 to 3.

The exhibition features paintings, prints, photography, sculpture, installation, and a tapestry that explore the interaction between the Christian faith and popular culture. Participating artists include John Bergmeier, Douglas Campbell, Steven Felix-Jager, Michelle Hofer, Patrick Luber, Phil Scorza, Michelle Stam, Ryan Stander, and Eric Van Wyk.

"Icthus, an art exhibition,” will be on display in the Dordt College Art Department Gallery in the Ribbens Academic Complex from October 31 through November 16. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, November 1, at 9:30 pm. The reception follows the conference’s opening keynote address by Peter Rollins in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. The public is invited to attend the opening and view the show.
