Joanna Bevaart will present vocal recital at Dordt College

Dordt College senior Joanna Bevaart will present a soprano vocal recital Friday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. A reception will follow.

Bevaart, of Lacombe, Alberta, will perform works by Mozart, Bizet, and Fauré. “My favorite pieces in the program are the ones by Vivaldi, Bach, and Handel because I have always liked the Baroque style,” said Bevaart.

A K-12 choral music education major, Bevaart is the recipient of the Anne Heyns De Beer Music Education Scholarship. Her vocal instructor is Deb Vogel.

Additional participants in the recital include Dordt College theater arts department assistant Brian De Young on piano and senior Joelle Lieuwen on violin (Lethbridge, Alberta). To learn more about Dordt College’s music program, visit www.dordt.edu/music.
