From the President

Dordt College’s original Science Building, completed in 1966, was the perfect size for its time. But nearly 50 years later, God has blessed us with tremendous growth in the areas of engineering, construction management, agriculture, and nursing. Our student body continues to grow, and expanding research opportunities have contributed to the need for a bigger and more up-to-date structure. The new Science and Technology Center, currently under construction, will be better organized, allow for further growth, and will join the sciences with other academic disciplines on campus.

When we broke ground for an expanded Science and Technology Building in May 2013, it was a leap of faith grounded in confidence in our supporting communities along with a very real need for expanded and updated facilities. We trusted that the growth God has blessed us with would be reinforced and upheld by our supporting community.

Thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends of the college, we have reached the Phase 1 goal of $12 million, which is the first phase of a $20-million project. But we need your help to finish fundraising for Phase 1 and move on with the Completion Phase in a timely manner. Please consider this project in your charitable giving.

Thank you for your prayers and support,

Erik Hoekstra
