RECREATION CENTER

Overview

The Dordt College Recreation Center is built for year-round fitness and fun and has something for everyone. Here everyone from serious athletes to everyday fitness buffs to weekend warriors can find ways to stretch, sweat, and strengthen.

The Recreation Center features

Athletics

Dordt's indoor track area was designed for flexibility and performance. With 42" lanes, the NCAA regulation track is made of Mondo, the same material used in past Olympic games. The track surrounds three courts—two that can be used for basketball, volleyball, or tennis, and one with a wooden floor for basketball and volleyball only. The Recreation Center is also equipped to handle other indoor field events such as long jump, high jump, shot put, and pole vault.

Personal Fitness

The Recreation Center provides plenty of variety for fitness and fun. The perimeter of the track area includes three regulation racquetball courts for racquetball or wallyball, while the exercise/fitness room houses multiple treadmills, step machines, and stationary bikes for aerobic workouts. The weight rooms have a specially designed floor built for weightlifting as well as numerous Cybex Selectorized machines, along with free weights. Batting cages allow individuals to work on their swings year-round.
