Adelene Haverhals Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by Ms. Haverhals. The recipient must be an incoming freshmen student who graduated from Lynden (Washington) Christian High School.

No application form is necessary; all eligible students accepted for admission by March 15 will be automatically considered for this scholarship. This scholarship is not renewable.

Albert and LaVerne Boersma Scholarship

Mr. Boersma funds this scholarship in memory of his wife LaVerne. This scholarship is for a Central Minnesota Christian High School graduate. Preference will be given to students who are members of a church in the reformed faith and who are interested in the pre-seminary program or teacher education program at Dordt College. All students who meet these criteria will automatically be considered for this scholarship.

Alumni Association Regional Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen students who fully appreciate the mission of Dordt College. Applicants must have a 2.80 cumulative GPA and must write an essay about their desire to be a Dordt College student. At least one recipient will be selected from each alumni geographical area.

These are one-year scholarships. It is highly recommended that the scholarship reference be written by a Dordt College alumnus. If no alumnus is available, someone who understands the mission of Dordt College may write the reference.

Art and Marilyn Dykstra Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by Mrs. Dykstra. The recipient must be an incoming freshmen student who graduated from Denver Christian High School.

Benjamin H. Van Andel Memorial Scholarships

These scholarships were established with a gift from the estate of Benjamin H. Van Andel to encourage financially needy and deserving students who strongly desire to attend Dordt College for Christian higher education. To be considered for these scholarships students must be full time students in good academic standing and must have completed the FAFSA and the Dordt College Supplemental Data Form.

Bomgaars Scholarship

This scholarship is for a Dordt College student who is an employee or immediate dependent of an employee of any Bomgaars store.

Brenda's Song — A Scholarship in the Worship Arts

Gordon Nyhof and Rachel Nyhof-Cain have established this scholarship for a student who intends to be involved in campus worship activities. Preference will be given to a student who plans to minor in Worship Arts. To be considered for this scholarship students must be full time students accepted in good academic standing. Financial need can be taken into consideration when selecting a recipient.

Dordt College students who are children of Christian Missionaries are eligible to apply for scholarships from the Christian Missionary Scholarship Foundation.

Christmas Scholarship

Erik and Barb Hoekstra fund this scholarship to encourage a deserving student to attend Dordt College for Christian higher education. This scholarship is available for an incoming freshman who has at least one parent working in Christian higher education (K-12 or college) as a teacher, administrator, or staff member.

Cornelius and Hendrena Zylstra Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by Dr. Carl and Mrs. Gloria Zylstra in honor of his parents. The recipient must be from Pella Christian High School, with special preference to those who graduated from Sully Christian Grade School.

Dave and Amy Van Belle have funded this scholarship. The recipient must be an incoming freshmen student who graduated from Abbotsford Christian High School.

Dordt College Missionary Kids Scholarship

Children of active Christian Missionaries are eligible for a Dordt College Missionary Kids Scholarship. The dollar amount ranges depending on financial need. This scholarship is renewable provided the student maintains a 2.0 minimum GPA.

Dordt Development Foundation Activities Grants Program

Recipients will be selected based on their participation in one of the following three high school activities programs: athletic, music or theatre. Any student who has completed an application form for a Dordt College Athletic Scholarship, Dordt College Music Scholarship or Dordt College Theater Arts Scholarship will automatically be considered for a Dordt Development Foundation Activities Grant. This grant may be awarded alone or in conjunction with another activities scholarship.

Doris Vande Kieft Memorial Music Award

This scholarship is being funded by Scott Vande Kieft to encourage a financially needy and deserving student who strongly desires to attend Dordt College for Christian higher education. This scholarship is available for an incoming freshman who intends to participate in music at Dordt College, with preference going to potential music majors. To be considered for this scholarship students must be full time students accepted in good academic standing and must have completed the FAFSA and the Dordt College Supplemental Data Form. Financial need will be considered when awarding this scholarship.

Eastern North Carolina Scholarship

This scholarship is for a North Carolina state resident. First preference will be given to a Terra Ceia Christian High School graduate. Second preference will be given a student from the Eastern North Carolina geographical area.

Egbert Meyer Memorial Founders Scholarships

Several scholarships are funded in memory of Egbert Meyer from Volga, South Dakota who was one of the founders who worked to establish Dordt College. These scholarships will be awarded to financially needy and deserving students who strongly desire to attend Dordt College for Christian higher education.

Eugene and Sharon Koorn Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by Eugene and Sharon Koorn. They wish to encourage a financially needy and deserving student who strongly desires to attend Dordt College for Christian higher education. This scholarship is available for an incoming freshman. To be considered for this scholarship students must be full time students accepted in good academic standing and must have completed the FAFSA and the Dordt College Supplemental Data Form. Financial need will be considered when awarding this scholarship.

Folkertsma Athletic Scholarship

Frank Folkertsma funds this scholarship to encourage a financially needy and deserving student who strongly desires to attend Dordt College for Christian higher education. This scholarship is available for an incoming freshman who intends to participate in JV or Varsity intercollegiate athletics. To be considered for this scholarship students must be full time students accepted in good academic standing and must have completed the FAFSA and the Dordt College Supplemental Data Form. Financial need will be considered when awarding this scholarship.

Gerald and Sue Baas Family Scholarship

Recipients selected for this scholarship must intend to major in nursing or in a pre-medicine program and have a 3.00 minimum cumulative GPA. Preference will be given to students who are Michigan or Wisconsin state residents. Any student accepted for admissions at Dordt College who meets the above stated criteria will automatically be considered for this scholarship.

Harker's Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate leadership potential. Applicants must have a cumulative 3.00 GPA. Recipients will be selected on the basis of their participation and leadership in school, church, and community activities. One scholarship is available.

Hugh & Eve Meeter Calvinism Award

Hugh and Eve Meeter established this award to stimulate interest in and knowledge of the Calvinistic world-and-life view among high school seniors. Awards are given annually for research papers on a topic dealing with John Calvin or Calvinism. Awards are payable to student tuition accounts at the following colleges: Calvin, Dordt, King's (Canada), Redeemer (Canada), Kuyper, and Trinity Christian.

Huisman Minority Scholarships

Students who demonstrate leadership qualities and are from a minority race as defined by the CRCNA Synodical Committee on Race Relations are eligible for this scholarship.

Jake Hop Scholarships

Two scholarships are available for incoming freshman students from Northwest Iowa. The first scholarship will give preference to a Western Christian High School student accepted into the Dordt College Men’s Basketball program. The second scholarship will give preference to a student who has a Rock Rapids, Iowa, postal address or resides in Lyon County, Iowa.

JJR Upperclass Leadership Scholarships

These scholarships are funded by an anonymous donor to encourage students who show strong character, Christian commitment and leadership skills. Applicants must have a 3.00 cumulative GPA. Three scholarships are available.

These are one-year scholarships; however, recipients may reapply for a continuing student JJR Leadership Scholarship as a sophomore, junior or senior. References should be written to help the scholarship committee evaluate the applicant's leadership potential.

Kasey and Karla Abbott Native American Scholarship

Recipient must be of American Native ethnicity and accepted at Dordt College as a full time student in good academic standing. Preference may be given to students intending to major in nursing or in a natural science subject area.

This scholarship is funded by Dr. Carl and Mrs. Gloria Zylstra in honor of her parents. The recipient must be from the Gallatin Valley, Montana geographical area.

Mephibosheth Scholarships

These scholarships are available to help provide assistance to students with physical disabilities. . Financial need will be considered. These scholarships are not automatically renewed; however, a recipient will be given equal consideration with other applicants each year.

Phoenix Heritage Scholarship

This scholarship is available for an incoming freshman or upper class Dordt College student who is a member of the Phoenix, Arizona, First Christian Reformed Church. Recipients must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and a Dordt College SDF (Supplemental Data Form.) Financial need will be considered when awarding this scholarship.

Premier Communications Foundation Scholarships

Students who have a Sioux Center, Iowa, telephone prefix (722), a 3.00 cumulative GPA and a 21 ACT composite score will be eligible for these scholarships. Recipients will be selected based on leadership, character, and Christian commitment.

Renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a 3.00 GPA. All eligible students accepted for admission by February 1 will be automatically considered for these scholarships. Three scholarships are available.

These scholarships honor students who demonstrate superior academic ability and leadership potential. Applicants must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Recipients will be selected on the basis of their participation and leadership in school, church, and community activities. Seven scholarships are available.

Several scholarships are available for incoming freshman students who are graduates of Southwest Christian High School in Edgerton, Minnesota. To be considered for these scholarships, students must be accepted by Dordt College as full-time students in good academic standing. Stuart and Denise Skelton funded this scholarship to encourage a financially needy and deserving student who strongly desires to attend Dordt College for Christian higher education.
