National Meet Standards Met At Dordt Invite

(Monday, February 11; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Two Dordt College Defender relay teams hit the “A” standard for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championship meet with their performance this past weekend.

The women’s distance medley relay (Abby De Vries, Katie Bonnema, Lillie Koerner, Merissa Harkema) ran the event in 12:39.85, under the needed 12:40.00 to qualify.  The women’s 4 x 400 (Siera Wilgenburg, Tara Postma, Marisa Broersma, Katie Bonnema) also made it under the needed time of 4:02.00 with a time of 4:00.01.

Ryan Tholen met the “B” standard in the 600 meters with a time of 1:21.57 and was just shy of the “A” standard of 1:21.44.

The GPAC Championships are this weekend, Friday and Saturday, February 15 and 16 at Lincoln, Nebraska.  The NAIA Championship Meet is February 28-March 1 at Geneva, Ohio.
