Bonnema Claims National Title

(Saturday, March 2; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Katie Bonnema (Junior; Ireton, Iowa) won the 600 meters at the 2013 NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, March 2.

Bonnema won the event after leading start to finish, running away from the field with a time of 1:31.52.  Her  nearest competitor had a time of 1:32.85.  Bonnema also had the fastest time out of the semifinals  with a time of 1:32.30.

She was the runner-up in the same event last year with a time of 1:32.88 in the finals and finished sixth in the outdoor championships 400 meter race in 2012.
