“Little Shop of Horrors” comes to life at Dordt College

Dordt College brings the dark-comedy musical “Little Shop of Horrors” to the stage April 24 through 27 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee performance at 1 p.m. on April 27.

Centering around the life of lowly flower shop worker Seymour Krelborn, the production addresses themes of greed, temptation, and death while thrilling audiences with the trouble created by a “man-eating” plant from another world.

The show is directed by senior criminal justice and psychology major Alex Updike of Desert Hot Springs, California. The cast stars senior theater arts major Nate Scheuers of Fox Lake, Wisconsin, as Seymour Krelborn; senior music management major Mia Kornelis of Sioux Center, Iowa, as Audrey; and senior theater arts major Nathan Sparks of Luverne, Minnesota, as Mr. Mushnik.

Performances will be held at the New World Theatre located within the Dordt College Ribbens Academic Complex. Tickets will be available at the door beginning at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students. This play contains mature content and language.
