Vander Berg Joins Dordt Soccer

Lucas Vander Berg, a senior at Central Wisconsin Christian, recently announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender men's soccer program.

Vander Berg is a 6', 170 pound midfielder and defender for the Crusaders and is a two year starter and letterwinner.  Vander Berg served as one of the team captains this past season and was a Wisconsin Flyway All-Conference honorable mention. Vander Berg has 12 career goals and 23 career assists, netting seven goals and eleven assists this past season.

Vander Berg helped the Crusaders to regional championships in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and a sectional championship and state qualification in 2011.  In 2012 and 2013, Vander Berg helped CWC to back to back Flyway Conference Championships.  Vander Berg also plays basketball at Central Wisconsin Christian.

Lucas is the son of Michael and Bonnie Vander Berg of Waupun, Wisconsin and he plans to major in Actuarial Science at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).

U.S. News & World Report,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
