PRAIRIE GRASS CHALLENGE
It's the 10th Anniversary of the Prairie Grass Film Challenge and we're pulling out all the stops!
On February 19, 2016, we'll have our amazing screenings and awards ceremony like other years, but we're also throwing in a bunch of workshops for filmmakers--both students and teachers--to help you grow in your filmmaking abilities. You'll be able to take in workshops on animation, postproduction, acting, lighting, demonstrations of the latest gear and much more. From there, you'll move right into the screenings of all the year's films, then the Awards Ceremony.
Year 10 promises to be a blowout!
The Prairie Grass Film Challenge has become the premier event of its kind in the Midwest and we’ve recently completed nine years of fun, demanding competition, both locally and nationwide. The culminating event—the Awards Ceremony—is the highlight of the entire event as teams come together to find out who wins fabulous awards and money in four categories:
Best of Show: High School
Best of Show: College
Best of Show: Post College
Best of Show: Overall
Once those are awarded, the entire world has 10 days to vote online for winner of “People’s Choice.” The winners for this year—and several years past—can be watched here.
Our 48-Hour Film Challenge is a unique way to get people involved in film. Each year, first timers compete and so do teams who have been at it since the beginning. It’s a wild, sleep-optional 48 hours when teams actually make the films, followed a few weeks later by an elegant Awards Ceremony. Our judges look for elements of story and production value. First timers win, and so do veterans.
Explore our website and see if you and your friends have what it takes to compete in the Prairie Grass Film Challenge. Try it once and you’ll be hooked. It may be the most exciting thing you’ve ever done in the arts!
