Art

The Art Department at Dordt College seeks a dynamic classroom teacher committed to the Christian faith, to fill a full-time faculty appointment beginning August 2014. Primary responsibilities include teaching a range of studio art courses that could include Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Web Design, Sculpture, Ceramics, and/or 3D Design. The preferred candidate will have at least three years of teaching experience and a M.F.A. in studio art.

Director for Research & Scholarship

Dordt College is seeking an innovative person with a strong track record of teaching/research/scholarship and a passion for Christian higher education to serve in the role of Director for Research & Scholarship beginning in summer of 2014. Our selected candidate will have proven skills to support and encourage the faculty at Dordt College to develop scholarship and research as an integral part of their service to Dordt's mission and thereby strengthen our culture of scholarship across the campus. As the Director for Research & Scholarship role is part-time, additional duties to fulfill a full-time role will include teaching and/or administrative leadership, based on the professional skills of the selected candidate. A Ph.D. or other terminal degree is preferred; a Masterís degree is required.

Education

Dordt College is currently seeking a full-time faculty member to join the Education Department beginning August 2014. Areas of expertise needed are in the areas of graduate program leadership, teaching courses in teacher and school leadership. Department leadership in the undergraduate program is another area for consideration. Candidates with expertise in other areas of undergraduate education may also be considered. In addition to teaching, the faculty member would advise education students and assist with student teaching supervision and evaluation. This position would also include participation as a full team member in department and college administrative tasks (including curriculum development and review, assessment, development of new initiatives, student recruiting and advising, and committee assignments). Other expectations would include the development and implementation of an ongoing program of scholarship and/or outreach with the potential to positively impact educational insights and practices in PK-12 education. An earned doctoral degree is preferred; a masterís degree with significant experience in PK-12 education is required. This is a grant funded position.

Statistics

The Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science Department at Dordt College is currently seeking candidates for a 1-3 year temporary teaching and research position in statistics beginning in August 2014. In particular, candidates will teach undergraduate courses in statistics and related sub-disciplines, and participate in ongoing, federally funded, research efforts in statistical genetics, biostatistics and statistics education. Ideal candidates will have experience and passion for teaching undergraduates, mature interpersonal, collaborative and oral and written communication skills, and an interest in participating in one or more ongoing, federally funded, research projects in Statistics housed at Dordt College. The position will require teaching between 2-4 courses each semester, with the balance of load towards research projects based on the interests and skills of the selected candidate, as well as departmental needs. A Ph.D. in Statistics is preferred; a Masterís degree is required.
