Custodian - Part Time

Dordt College has a part-time opening for a Custodian. This job would be for 20-25 hours per week during the school year (August 1-May 15) with minimal summer hours. Ideal hours would be mornings with a flexible start time (ex: 5 a.m. Ė 9 a.m. or 6 a.m. - 10 a.m.). Some weekend hours may also be required when there are campus events to prep or clean up after.

Responsibilities of this position include maintaining and cleaning campus facilities. Duties include general maintenance and housekeeping, managing student workers to assist with daily tasks and set up needs, and arranging support equipment and seating for special events.

Qualifications include a basic knowledge of housekeeping and maintenance equipment, physical skills necessary for carrying supplies and moving equipment (up to 50 pounds), planning and scheduling skills, and verbal communication and leadership skills needed for overseeing student workers. The individual in this position must be self-motivated and have the ability to work without direct supervision.

Graduate Assistant Football Coach

Dordt College is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant position for the football program. The position is a 2-year commitment with annual review. Benefits include tuition discounts for the Dordt College Master of Education Program, campus housing, an annual stipend for hours worked, and a meal card.

Primary responsibilities as a football GA include working with either the defensive or offensive coordinator and coaching a position group, recruiting, working with Hudl video editing system, academic development of student-athletes, assisting in strength and conditioning program and equipment as well as other responsibilities within the football program. Hours expected to work in the role as assistant coach would be approximately 1,000 hours.

A requirement for this position is a bachelorís degree in Education and acceptance into Dordtís graduate program. Past experience coaching and/or playing football is desired.

KDCR Station Manager & Audio Operations Leader

Dordt College is seeking an individual to lead the successful 24/7/365 operation of the college media station which currently includes audio broadcasting, with both terrestrial and web-enabled signals under the KDCR Radio banner. This highly motivated individual will be expected to provide leadership for media operations on campus, including strategic planning, content oversight, operational leadership, financial performance, and educational partnerships to support the mission of the college.

A Bachelorís degree in Broadcast Communications with a minimum of 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills as well as leadership skills for training and supervising student employees. Fundraising experience with complimentary public relations skills are desired.

Library Acquisitions & Cataloging Specialist

Dordt College is seeking a detail-oriented self-starter to serve as Library Acquisitions & Cataloging Specialist. This individual will acquire, process, and catalog books, journals, media and other materials for the library collection. This is a part-time position with approximately 25 hours per week.

This individual will place orders for library materials and supplies; maintain item records; process, catalog, classify, and receive materials; manage journal subscriptions; and submit all library invoices for payment.

Course work in general clerical duties, computer, and customer relations or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training is required. Library experience is preferred. Coordination, mathematical, and communication skills are required along with attention to detail and physical skills necessary for carrying supplies and moving equipment.

Professional-Technical Education Program Enrollment Coordinator

Dordt College is seeking a professional self-starter to serve as Enrollment Coordinator for the Professional Ė Technical Education program. This individual will
present the newly created Professional-Technical Education program to prospective students and parents.

This individual will manage recruitment and enrollment for the Pro-Tech program and assist with the development and implementation of a coordinated marketing strategy. Duties will include making visits to high schools, businesses, and churches to build relationships, visiting with prospective students, and contacting students through phone calls, texts, emails, and letters. In addition, this individual will visit businesses to develop relationships with internship and employment providers and develop and manage events to recruit Pro-Tech students.

An Associateís degree is required. A Bachelorís degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Agriculture and/or manufacturing experience or knowledge is desired. Experience in marketing, public relations, or sales is preferred but not essential. An individual who is entrepreneurial, innovative, and highly self-motivated is sought. Strong organizational, communication skills and a willingness to do extensive travel is required.

Webmaster

The Computer Services Department at Dordt College is seeking someone to fill the full-time position of Webmaster. This individual will be primarily responsible for all web development at the college. Responsibilities include developing external web pages, as well as internal and affiliate web pages.

A Bachelorís degree in Computer Science or a related field is desired, as well as experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript and scripting languages. Candidates should have experience in a UNIX or Windows environment, as well as strong understanding of web-based applications. Drupal experience is strongly preferred. Good communication skills are required. The successful candidate will be a team player, capable of meeting deadlines while working with a wide range of customer expectations and skills.
