Database Administrator

Dordt College has a full-time opening for a Database Administrator (DBA). The DBA will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the operations of the campus information system.

Responsibilities include database programming and maintenance, administering various Linux systems, VMware cluster, and other related systems, and providing technical support for end users.

Related training, education or experience is required. A working knowledge of HTML, Java, PHP or Perl, SQL, Apache, Linux, VMware and Windows is required. Research skills and the ability to understand functional business areas when designing programs for end users are also required.

Director for Global Education

Dordt College seeks an individual to provide leadership that will oversee the global education initiatives including:
 International and multicultural student recruiting, enrollment, and retention,
 Compliance with US immigration policies and procedures,

A graduate degree in a related field (e.g., ESL, Education, Administration) with a minimum of 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training. Ability to articulate and promote a Biblical perspective for global higher education is desired, along with excellent organizational skills. Language competencies and knowledge of SEVP policies and SEVIS is desired. An ability to communicate well with families and individuals from diverse cultures is essential. Experience in and a desire to travel domestically and abroad is a must.

Director of Admissions

Dordt College seeks an individual to lead the Admissions team in the process of recruiting and admitting new and returning students as Director of Admissions. The Director will be responsible for leading the college in fulfilling its strategic enrollment goals.

The Director will think creatively and entrepreneurially about recruitment and admissions in a private Christian college setting and work collaboratively with other offices to maximize enrollment and retention. Other duties will include recruiting, training and supervising admissions professionals and support staff, as well as discerning recruiting and enrollment trends and developing strategies accordingly.

A BA is required, MA preferred, in an appropriate discipline along with 5 years of progressively responsible and successful experience in admissions. Research, analytical, communication, leadership, and influencing skills are necessary.

Director of Financial Aid

Dordt College seeks an individual to provide leadership and direction in the development and application of financial aid policies as Director of Financial Aid. The Director will work with a dedicated team to help students and families understand that a Dordt College education is affordable and valuable.

The Director will think creatively and entrepreneurially about financial aid, collaborate with other offices to maximize enrollment, retention and fund-raising efforts, maintain a working knowledge of financial aid policies and practices, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and develop and implement a financial aid awarding strategy. Additionally, the Director will meet with parents and students and supervise the Financial Aid office staff.

A BA in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance as well as five years of progressively responsible experience in financial aid at a private college is preferred. Research, analytic, accounting and communication skills are required along with the ability to lead and plan.

Director of Library Services

Dordt College seeks an individual to provide leadership that will guide the Dordt College Library in fulfilling its missions and goals as Director of Library Services.

The Director of Library Services will develop and implement a strategic plan for the library, provide supervision, guidance, and visionary leadership for a highly-motivated professional staff and student workers, manage and oversee all library operations, and develop and administer an annual budget. In addition, the Director will provide oversight for reference services, systems/computer/web management, and digital repository as well as research emerging technologies and technology based strategies.

A graduate degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited program, preferably with technology emphasis as well as 5 years of related experience is preferred. Experience in and knowledge of academic librarianship along with an understanding of and fluency with library technologies is required. Communication, supervisory, and budget management skills are also required.

Director of Strategic Initiatives

Dordt College seeks an individual to provide project support to the president and executive leadership team. This highly motivated individual will work with the president to research, develop, and execute organizational initiatives aligned with the strategic plan of the college.

The Director of Strategic Initiatives will conduct research, write reports, draft speeches, manage special projects, and build relationships/networks both internally and externally, in order to support the president and executive leadership team. This individual must have a keen and nuanced understanding of Christian higher education and be able to prioritize varied and sometimes conflicting needs, with the goal of keeping the president and leadership teams informed and focused on appropriate action steps to move the college forward.

This position is anticipated to be less than full-time (approximately 50%), however qualified candidates who require full-time employment are encouraged to apply. Depending on other areas of possible contribution, this position may be able to be paired with other personnel needs of the college to constitute a full-time position. Graduate Student Assistant Football Coach

Dordt College is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant position for the football program. The position is a 2 year commitment with annual review. Benefits include tuition discounts for the Dordt College Master of Education Program, campus housing, an annual stipend for hours worked, and a meal card.

Primary responsibilities as a football GA include coaching a defensive position group, working with the defensive coordinator to implement appropriate techniques and strategies, recruiting own area, working with Hudl video editing system, academic development of student athletes, assisting in strength and conditioning program and equipment as well as other responsibilities within the football program. Hours expected to work in role as assistant coach would be approximately 750-1,000 hours.

A bachelorís degree in Education and acceptance into Dordtís graduate program is required. Past experience coaching and/or playing football is desired.

KDCR Station Manager & Audio Operations Leader

Dordt College is seeking an individual to lead the successful 24/7/365 operation of the college media station which currently includes audio broadcasting, with both terrestrial and web-enabled signals under the KDCR Radio banner. This highly motivated individual will be expected to provide leadership for media operations on campus, including strategic planning, content oversight, operational leadership, financial performance, and educational partnerships to support the mission of the college.

A Bachelorís degree in Broadcast Communications with a minimum of 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills as well as leadership skills for training and supervising student employees. Fundraising experience with complimentary public relations skills are desired.

Learning Community Area Coordinator

The office of Student Services is searching for a candidate to fill a full-time opening for a Learning Community Area Coordinator. As an Area Coordinator, this individual will both serve as an educator, role model, facilitator, mentor, leader, administrator, and an essential person in the effective operation of the residence life learning community program. Primary responsibilities will include supervising, training and evaluating student staff, advising the hall programming council; maintain the general operation of two residence halls including attention to significant administrative details and budget management. Other duties include monitoring academic success, working with at-risk students, and encouraging the development of student leaders.

A Bachelor of Arts degree is required. A Masterís of Arts degree and two years of residence hall experience is desired or an equivalent combination of education and experience in student personnel or closely related field. Other requirements include excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
