The internationally renowned Boston Camerata presented "A Symphony of Psalms" as the centerpiece of a weekend of events focused on worship and the arts at Dordt College November 5-7, 2009, in order to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the birth of John Calvin.
The events included music workshops led by members of the Boston Camerata, faculty and guest presentations on the arts and worship, and the concert by the Boston Camerata.
The Camerata's "A Symphony of Psalms" is a program of Genevan Psalms and Psalm-based music from the Reformation era. The group of eight singers performed both unaccompanied and with the accompaniment of eight instrumentalists on period strings, woodwinds, and keyboard. Dordt choirs participated in the program. The concert took place Friday evening, November 6, 2009, at 7:30 pm in the B.J. Haan Auditorium.
