Erica joined the BUAD Department as the Buad Department Assistant in May of 2009. Duties include assisting the faculty of the Business Department with various organizational and communication needs, helping to maintain and grow our student internship program, working wtih the new 55th Avenue coffee shop on campus, and preparing for our campus visitors in the Business/Accounting program areas. Erica is also working on completing her MBA from USD and teaches local dining etiquette classes on the side.
B.A. Degree in Business Education from Northwestern College in 2000. Followed by teaching for two years in Sioux Falls at Roosevelt High School and most recently spent seven years teaching economics, business, computer, and sociology courses at Akron-Westfield High School before coming to Dordt College.
Erica enjoys volunteering with the Center for Financial Education, First Reformed Church, and the local Seahawks Swimming Team. Her family includes husband, James, and two biological children: Hudson and Aubrey. Also welcomed into their family were two teenage foster daughters - who have both since finished their education and began families of their own, which makes her a proud grandma of three! Erica looks forward to meeting and serving others through the opportunities at Dordt College.
