I recently completed my fifth academic year at Dordt College serving as head men's basketball coach and instructor in the Health & Human Performance Department.  Prior to Dordt College, I was involved in secondary education at Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn (IA), Chicago Christian (IL), and Waukee (IA).  In addition to coaching basketball at each stop, I also taught classes in social studies and physical education as well as serving as assistant principal at Chicago Christian high school.  During this span, I completed my Master's Degree in Education Administration at Governor's State University in University Park, Illinois.

Since joining the Dordt College community in June 2009, I have taught HHP 207 - Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries - while also adding assistant athletic director to my title in 2013.  On the hardwood, the Defender men's basketball teams have enjoyed the opportunity to compete in the NAIA national tournament in 2012. 2013, 2014.  In each of those years, the squad has also captured Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) regular season or conference tournament championships.  Speaking at regional civic functions, high school graduations and area churches are off-campus engagements that also occupy my schedule.
