John Zwart joined the Dordt College faculty in 1983. He teaches Introductory Physics, Modern Physics/Quantum Mechanics, Classical Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, and Perspectives in Physical Science. He is the chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Trained in experimental condensed matter physics, his current research interests include light-scattering studies of polymer structure and physics/science education. Dr. Zwart has served as a NASA Summer Faculty Fellow and a science education consultant. He is currently the past president of the Iowa Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers and is the Iowa representative on the national council of the American Association of Physics Teachers.
