Men's Golf In Sioux City Thursday

Participants… Teams from Briar Cliff, Northwestern, Doane, Iowa Lakes, Midland, Mount Marty and Dordt will compete in the event. Some of the schools are scheduled to send multiple teams.
Last Time Out… Dordt College finished ninth at a 36-hole event in Marshalltown, Iowa concluded on Saturday, September 29.
Dordt shot a 633 and was led by Jordan Taralson with a 151 and Cam Van Koevering carded a 161. The Defenders also got scores of 162 and 164 from Micah Christensen and Trey Hugen respectively.
AIB won the event and got a four under par score from Johnny Schwaller for a 136 and medalist honors.
Last Time On This Course…Dordt hasn’t played at Green Valley since April 2011 when the Defenders fell off the pace in day two of the Morningside/Briar Cliff Spring Invite on Thursday, April 21 and finished fourth in the event with a two-day stroke count of 632.
Dordt went into the day with a two stroke lead in team play and shot a 323 after their 309 on Wednesday. Ryan Kamp finished in second place overall with a 148 while Jordan Janz carded a 152 and Brandon McCracken a 154. Jon Vogel completed the Dordt scoring with a 178.
Travis Johnson from Dakota Wesleyan won the individual competition with a 145 and Wesleyan won the team title with a 621, beating Doane with a 626. Dordt's 632 was one stroke out of a tie for third. Day two was played at Green Valley Golf Course in Sioux City and is par-72.
The Lineup… Derek Fox is at 79 for the season through five rounds and Zach Kooiker is at 80.4 for the season and Madison Moss is at 81.6. Jordan Taralson also has a score of 80.5 and Sam Vos is at 81.
After This…Dordt will play in GPAC #2 on Wednesday, October 10 at Green Valley to conclude the season.
