Broekhuis Claims Weekly Honor

(Tuesday, October 30; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Kayla Broekhuis has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for matches played October 22-27.

Broekhuis, a junior from Edgerton, Minnesota, helped the Defenders to a 2-0 week  and an 11-2 Great Plains Athletic Conference record with one week remaining.  Broekhuis averaged 4.0 digs per set and was 24-26 on serve receptions in the wins over Dakota Wesleyan and Concordia.

Broekhuis averages over four digs per set for the Defenders while playing libero and has helped lead the Defenders to a 22-8 overall mark with three matches remaining.  Dordt will face Morningside, Northwestern and Nebraska Wesleyan to conclude the regular season.  Dordt will host a quarterfinal round GPAC Tournament match on November 6 at 8:00.
