Ver Meer To Attend Dordt College

(Tuesday, November 6; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Austin Ver Meer, a senior at Pella Christian High School, has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender basketball program.

Ver Meer, a 6-6, 210 forward, averaged 10.5 points per game with six rebounds per outing last season while earning second team all-conference honors in the Little Hawkeye.

“We are very happy to receive an early commitment from Austin,” said Dordt College coach Ross Douma.  “His development the past couple years has been notable and we believe he will continue along that path as he enters college.  Austin comes from a very good high school program under the direction of Larry Hessing and will be a key contributor for them this season.”

Austin is the son of Steve and Marla Ver Meer of Leighton, Iowa.  He plans to study engineering at Dordt College.
