Defenders No. 7 In Poll

(Wednesday, December 5; Sioux Center, Iowa)  The Dordt College Defender men’s basketball team dropped four spots in the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll released late Tuesday, December 4.  The Defenders are now no. 7 after starting the season 8-2.

The Defenders split their games last week with a win on the road over Dakota Wesleyan and Saturday loss to Midland in Fremont, Nebraska.

Dordt is one of four Great Plains Athletic Conference teams in the top-25 this week.  Dordt is no. 7; Northwestern is no. 9; Doane holds at no. 14 for the second straight week and Briar Cliff is no. 25.  Hastings is in the receiving votes category of the poll.

Dordt will host Northwestern on Wednesday, December 5 before traveling to Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday to face Nebraska Wesleyan.

Cardinal Stritch (Wisconsin) moved into the top no. 1 spot with a 10-0 start after Northwood (Florida) lost for the first time this week and fell to no. 4.
