“Lure of Alaska” Travelogue

January 15, 2013

Alaska still issues a siren call. For some this call is the lure of money, and for others, it’s the landscapes and large seemingly untouched pockets of nature.

On Friday, January 25, KDCR presents “Lure of Alaska” as part of the Travel and Adventure Film Series. The journey begins at 7:30 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door at $5 for adults and $3.50 for students.

Dale Johnson will take viewers to one of the few places on earth where human influence has not changed the natural habitat. A land of wildlife, vibrant cities, and majestic glaciers, Alaska has maintained an atmosphere of enchantment and delight.

Johnson has filmed for the Johnson Space Center in Houston and NASA during the “Skylab” era. Following that, he moved to Alaska and formed Trailwood Films, his own production company that has won several awards. His interest in wildlife and his photographic ability have been profiled in National Wildlife Magazine. Johnson was inducted into the Travelogue Hall of Fame and awarded Best of Show at the 2008 Travel Film Convention.
