Gingerich To Play Baseball At Dordt College

(Tuesday, February 5; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Cameron Gingerich, a senior at Iowa Mennonite High School, has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender baseball program.

Gingerich has played shortstop and pitcher and had a .402 batting average last season with 22 runs batted in and 37 hits.  He was 5-3 on the mound with a 3.16 earned run average in 57 2/3 innings and struck out 88 batters while walking 19.  He was an all-district second-team selection in 2012, earning the honor for the second straight year,  and he has earned all-conference honors twice.  Gingerich was on a 2011 baseball team that earned a district title.

Cameron is the son of Maynard and Carol Gingerich of Riverside, Iowa.  He plans to study agriculture at Dordt College.
