Experience the diversity of cultures in Sioux Center at the Dordt College Cultural Fair

February 18, 2013

International cuisine, cultural dance, and fashion styles from around the world converge in a colorful and dynamic event at Dordt College.

The college’s Students Without Borders cross-cultural club is hosting the annual Cultural Fair on Saturday, March 2, from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the De Yager Center. The colorful fashion show, an audience favorite, will conclude the day’s event.

“People won’t want to miss the performances,” said Giovanna Romero, a junior from Asuncion, Paraguay. “Many international students are going to be singing and dancing something typical from their country.”

The Cultural Fair will showcase and engage students and community members in other cultures, helping participants develop a broader understanding of God’s creation and a deeper appreciation of our place in it.

“As international students we live every day in a different culture and we learn to respect and celebrate the differences between our culture and the American culture,” said Romero. “The Cultural Fair is an opportunity for others to see a little bit about our culture.”

This is a free event for people of all ages.
