Take a virtual vacation with “Majestic Montana” travelogue

February 25, 2013

Although Montana is the fourth largest state in the United States, its 147,000 square miles are still sparsely populated. Cattle outnumber people three to one, and vast areas of wilderness span much of the state. The majestic qualities of Montana have made it a regular destination for travelers looking to be immersed in nature.

KDCR will host a “Majestic Montana” Travelogue that will take viewers to the state’s parks, national monuments, and magnificent mountains. The journey begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, in the B.J. Haan Auditorium on the campus of Dordt College.

Steve Gonser, known for his ability to capture on film the vitality of people and the beauty of nature, will take the audience on a tour of the state. The audience will learn about ranching at the Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site, participate in a Native American Powwow, trace the steps of the Lewis and Clark Expedition through the state, tour Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, and investigate myths, legends, and realities of people who came west to help shape the future of this state.

Tickets can be purchased at the door at $5 for adults and $3.50 for students.
