Kiel Signs On With Dordt Volleyball
March 13, 2013
(Wednesday,
March 13; Sioux Center, Iowa) Elizabeth Kiel, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender volleyball program.
Kiel, a 5-11 middle blocker, averaged 3.2 kills per set with a .330 kill efficiency and had nearly a block per outing for the Knights during the past two seasons. She claimed first-team all-state honors in 2012 from both the IGCA and the Des Moines Register.
Kiel was a two-time all-conference selection and earned all-area honors from the Northwest Iowa Review twice along with all-district honors. She led the War Eagle Conference in kills per set in 2011 and 2012
“Elizabeth is a great addition to our volleyball program for the tremendous character that she brings in humility and work ethic,” said Dordt College coach Chad Hanson. “Her talent as a middle hitter for Unity Christian under coach Janna Van Donge, is what led her team and conference in kills/set as well as All-State honors.”
Elizabeth is the daughter of Virgil and Janet Kiel of Maurice, Iowa. She plans to study nursing at Dordt College.
