Van Holland Joins Defender Men's Soccer

Cody Van Holland, a senior at Sioux Falls Christian, has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender men's soccer program.

Van Holland is a 5'10", 145 pound central midfielder for the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers and also plays club soccer for the Dakota Alliance Soccer Club.  Van Holland helped the Chargers to a 62-3-1 record during his high school years and netted 10 goals and 15 assists in his senior campaign for Sioux Falls Christian.  Van Holland was named 1st Team All-State in both 2011 and 2012 and was an honorable mention in 2010; he was named to the Elite 11 in 2012 and was the team MVP and a 1st Team All-NCSAA selection in 2011.

Van Holland helped the Chargers to South Dakota State Championship titles in 2011 and 2012 and the Chargers were the state runner-up in 2009.  In Van Holland's 12 years of club soccer for Dakota Alliance his teams grabbed six State Cup Championships and Van Holland served as team captain for seven of his twelve years.

Van Holland also played basketball for the Chargers, helping them to a Big Sioux Conference Championship in 2013 while being named 1st Team All-Conference. 

Cody is the son of Kevin and Brenda Van Holland of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and he plans to major in Pre-Architecture.
