Ag Day at Dordt College is April 26

April 15, 2013

Contests, live animals, and machinery galore. These attractions have made Dordt College’s Ag Day an annual destination for many.

The Dordt College agriculture club and agriculture department are hosting Ag Day on Friday, April 26. The event is held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the main parking lot, just north of the Dordt College Campus Center.

This free event is a way to get people in the community engaged with agriculture. This year’s event features live animals, machinery that people can view and climb, educational demonstrations, and games including bale rolling, bale stacking, an obstacle course, and crossword puzzles.

Pulled pork and hamburgers will be served by members of the Ag Club between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The meal is a fundraiser for Ag Club activities, including Ag Day.

Dordt College is one of only a handful of Christian colleges in North America to offer a four-year agriculture program. Over the past several years, all Dordt agriculture students have found positions within six months of graduating, most much sooner. Dordt agriculture graduates enter careers not only in farming and technical service support but also in government, finance, and international development. Learn more at
