Hachaba Added to Defender Men's Soccer Program

VJ Hachaba, a senior at Coon Rapids High School, has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender men's soccer program.

Hachaba, a 5'5", 125 pound central midfielder/forward has been a three year varsity starter for the Coon Rapids Cardinals.  Over his three year varsity career Hachaba netted 23 goals and 16 assists with 16 goals and 11 assists coming during his senior campaign.

Hachaba helped the Knights to a second place finish in their section in 2012 and was named to the Minnesota All-State Team, All-Metro and  NWSC All-Conference First Team while also serving as team captain.  Coon Rapids named Hachaba their team MVP and the Best Offensive Player.  Hachaba also received an Outstanding Player award at the Minnesota State High School Soccer League Senior Classic.  Hachaba also competes in track and field for the Cardinals and is the team captain.  He was part of a 4X400M group that was all-conference and a 4X800M teams that received an all-conference honorable mention.

Hachaba has played two years of club soccer for the Coon Rapids Soccer Club and helped his team to the Eau Claire United Tournament Championship in 2011 and the MYSA State quarterfinals in 2011.  Hachaba has netted 19 goals and assisted on 13 others in this two years with the program.

VJ is the son of Bright and Naomi Hachaba of Coon Rapids, Minnesota and he plans to major in Pre-Pharmacy/Pre-Medical and also study Spanish.
