Dordt Women's Golf Plays At Whispering Creek

Meet… Dordt College will send its women’s golf team to the Briar Cliff Fall Invite on Saturday, September 14. 

Last Time Out… The Dordt College Defenders finished sixth in women's golf GPAC Qualifier #1 at Mitchell, South Dakota on Tuesday, September 10. The Defenders totaled 359 under near ideal conditions at Wild Oak Golf Club.

Dordt's Renae Visser totaled an 87 to lead the way and is 18th overall. Kim Brumfield shot an 89 for 22nd and Kristin Stoffels carded a 91 and is in 26th. Raeann De Rousse and Meredith Fopma had a 92 and 98 respectively in the 55 golfer field.

Dakota Wesleyan, led by Chelsea Burback and Lauren Fitts, is in first place with a 316. Burback and Fitts shot 75 and 78 respectively to place first and second overall on the par-72, 5,879 yard layout.

Last Time On This Course… Dordt competed in the Morningside Invite on September 6 which was also at Whispering Creek.  The Defenders shot a 385 for fifth place and got an 86 from Visser and a 97 by Kristin Stoffels.  Visser’s score placed her fourth overall, three shots off the pace set by Morningside’s Callie Anderson.

History… Dordt competed in the Briar Cliff Invite in 2010 and shot a team total of 447.  Justean De Groot was low for the Defenders with a 103.

The Lineup… Visser has a low scoring average of 86.3 through three rounds of play and Kim Brumfield is at 94.3 in three rounds of play as well.  Raeanne De Rousse and Kristin Stoffels have scoring averages of 96.5 and 96.3 respectively.

After This… Dordt has significant off time until its next competition, September 27 and 28 at the Dakota Wesleyan Invite.
