Dordt Volleyball No. 19 In Poll

(Wednesday, September 25; Sioux Center, Iowa)  The Dordt College Defender volleyball team moved to no. 19 in the most recent Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll released late Tuesday, September 24 by the NAIA home office.

The Defenders went 2-0 last week to improve to 11-2 at the time the poll was voted on.  The Defenders faced no. 7 Northwestern on Wednesday night and lost a 3-2 decision at the De Witt Gym.  Dordt College will take an 11-3 record into its weekend matches with Nebraska Wesleyan and no. 5 Midland.  The Defenders are currently 3-1 in the GPAC and are a game behind Midland and Northwestern in the loss column.

Hastings, one of the teams Dordt beat last week, moved from no. 25 to no. 23 and is the fourth GPAC team in the poll.

Dordt College took 289 points in the poll which is voted on by 23 coaches across the country.  Concordia (California) is 9-0 and is the no. 1 team in the country and has been either no. 1 or no.2 for 24 straight polls.
