(Wednesday, October 30; Sioux Center, Iowa)  The Dordt College women’s cross country team made a jump from no. 9 in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll to no. 5 this week after a win at the Mount Marty Invite in Yankton, South Dakota.
The Defenders had seven runners in the top-15 at the race and were rewarded with a spot in the top-five of the polling done weekly.  23 coaches across the country vote on the poll.

Dordt totaled 542 points and jumped over Cal State San Marcos who was no. 3 last week and fell to no. 6 with 536 points.  Doane, the only other GPAC team in the poll fell from no. 17 to no. 22.  Taylor (Indiana) was another big mover as they went from no. 11 last week to no. 4 this week.  British Columbia took 22 of the 23 first place votes and is firmly entrenched at no. 1.
