Feenstra Signs With Dordt College Basketball

November 27, 2013

(Wednesday, November 27; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Taylor Feenstra, a senior at Western Christian High School in Hull, Iowa,  has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender basketball program.

Taylor, a 6-7, 245 pound forward, averaged 11.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game last season and helped the Wolfpack to the substate final.  Feenstra, already a two-year starter, averaged 10.7 points per game and converted 72 three-point shots.  Western advanced to the substate final during that sophomore season as well.

Feenstra earned third-team all-state honors last season along with first-team honors from the Lakes Conference and second-team honors from the Northwest Iowa Review.  He also took second-team all-conference honors as a sophomore.

“We are excited to announce Taylor as our first recruit from the class of 2014.  He continues to develop all facets of his game and with a great deal of potential, we believe his best days are still in front of him.  Taylor comes from a very successful program at Western Christian and understands what it takes to compete at a high level.  In addition to being an excellent basketball player, Taylor is an outstanding young man who will impact our campus community in many ways during his time here the next four years,” said Dordt College Coach Ross Douma.

Taylor is the son of Randy and Lynette Feenstra of Hull, Iowa.  He plans to study business at Dordt College.
