Last time out…the Blades hosted the Clash in the Corn tournament on November 21-23 and played very well, picking up a 2-1 win over Wyoming on day one of the classic-style tournament before losing to Colorado State (4-1) on day two and Metro State (3-1) in the final game to the 10th ranked (Pacific Region) Roadrunners who improved to 14-4.

Against Metro, after a scoreless first twenty minutes of action, that included both teams going 0 for 1 on the power play, it would be the Blades that would strike first in the second period. While on the power play, Kevin Vermeer tallied his fourth goal of the season when he buried a rebound after an initial shot from Mitchell Ten Napel at 10:59. The Dordt lead would be short-lived as the Roadrunners scored a power play goal of their own just a little over two minutes later when Shane Doerfler put a wrister in to the top right hand corner at 8:47. Forty-one seconds later, Metro broke the tie was Dan Sheehan cleaned up a rebound of a Doerfler shot. Sheehan added a second goal at 2:26 of the period to give the Roadrunners a 3-1 lead going into the second intermission.

Neither team was able to score in the third period, including a 70 second stretch at the end the game that the Blades played with netminder Riley Braun on the bench in favor of the extra attacker.

Metro State was one for six with the man advantage while the Blades converted one of their five tries on the power play.

Riley Braun had 35 saves in goal for the Blades and Nick Danzo turned away 26 shots.

Missouri State dropped Illinois State twice on November 22 and 23 by finals of 7-1 and 7-2.
