Dordt Listed In Final Fall National Standings

(Thursday, December 26; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Dordt College is 20th in the final fall NAIA Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup.  The Defenders finish the fall with 136 points.

Dordt College took 72 points with a sixth place finish at the Women’s Cross Country National Championship Meet and a ninth place finish at the NAIA Volleyball National Championships earned them 64 points.

Grand View, with a national title in football, earned the top spot after the fall sports season with 226 points.  Fellow GPAC members Morningside and Midland are 19th and 29th respectively with 137 and 98 points. 

The Golden Sun Athletic Conference ends the fall with three institutions in the top 1---Concordia  (3), The Master’s (7) and Biola (8). 

The six fall NAIA championships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles: men’s cross country-Oklahoma City; women’s cross country-British Columbia; men’s soccer-Martin Methodist; women’s soccer-Concordia (Oregon); women’s volleyball-Texas Brownsville; football-Grand View.

The Learfield Sports Director’s Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of College Directors of Athletics and USA Today.  Points are awarded on each institutions finish in up to 12 sports—six women’s and six men’s.
