Dordt College presents Day of Encouragement

January 2, 2014

Open to students, parents, church leaders, volunteers, worshipers, broken people, and more, Dordt College’s Day of Encouragement is a day to inspire, encourage, and equip God’s people for ministry. Day of Encouragement is Saturday, February 1, 2014, and focuses on topics including mission, worship, and culture.

“This event is open to everyone. The diversity of speakers and wide range of topics is meant to refresh and inspire all those who are spending their lives for the kingdom whether they’re full-time parents, business leaders, or senior pastors,” said Brandon Huisman, director of alumni and external relations. More than 30 breakout sessions will be held in addition to the keynote address given by Hugh Halter.

In his presentation, “The Big AND,” Halter will examine how to build a church that is both deeply missional and relational. Founder of Missio, lead pastor of Adullam ministry in Denver, and author of The Tangible Kingdom, AND, and Sacrilege, Halter speaks extensively across the country, encouraging and equipping pastors to minister and lead.

Early bird registration is January 17, and the final deadline is January 29. You can register online at or by contacting Rachel Verwolf at or (712) 722-6022.

Youth pastors are also invited to spend one additional day on campus for the Youth Pastor Visit Day on Friday, January 30. For more information about the events of the day and to learn about how the college can help cover expenses, visit
