Dordt College Junior Art Show features six student artists

February 25, 2014

The annual Dordt College Junior Art Exhibit is on display until March 12, in the Campus Center Art Gallery, and features the work of six art majors.

A reception and artists’ discussion will be held at the gallery on Saturday, February 22, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., with the Gallery Talk at 1:15. Refreshments will be served.

Participants include Rebekah Dykhuizen (Beach Park, Illinois), Carlie Hendricks (Waupun, Wisconsin), Jerusha Pimentel (Salt Lake City, Utah), Aubrey Pasker (Runnells, Iowa), Hayley Dahl (Eden Prairie, Minnesota), and Bridget Rowe (Renton, Washington).

Works include ceramics, drawings, painting, mixed media, traditional and digital photography, and graphic design. The show highlights unique painting techniques and meaningful images.

This exhibit celebrates a collection of art and digital media by a very capable group of art and design majors at Dordt, says Dordt College Professor and Gallery Coordinator David Versluis. “It reflects the fine level of studio artwork being created.”

The public is welcome to visit Dordt’s free exhibits in the Campus Center Art Gallery, which is open every day from 8 to 10 p.m.
