Alegria To Join Defender Football

(Thursday, April 24; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Aaron Alegria, a senior at Barbers Hill High School (Texas), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender football program.

Alegria earned all-district first-team honors and was an academic all-district honoree as well.  He helped Barbers Hill to a 2012 bi-district championship.  He was also named the Kenneth Skidmore Courage Award winner.  Alegria is listed as a 6-1, 275 pound guard.

Aaron is the son of Ronaldo and Kathryn Alegria of Baytown, Texas.  He plans to study health and human performance at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).

U.S. News & World Report,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
